Summer Work Germany: Timeline for the 2026/2027 Season
Timing is one of the most important factors for summer work in Germany. The process has several stages, and each has its own window. Knowing the timeline saves you from last minute stress.
Autumn: registration and preparation
The application window for the following summer opens in autumn and runs until roughly March of the next year. In autumn, you register for free with Amit-AI, complete the MONA video interview and upload your documents. Document checks happen at this stage, so there is time to fix anything missing.
Registering early has a concrete advantage: the pool of jobs is still full, so your choice is widest. Late applicants pick from what remains.
Winter: matching and the ZAV process
In winter, AI supported matching connects you with employers that fit your profile, language level and availability. Once you agree with an employer, the employer applies to the ZAV, the international placement service of the Federal Employment Agency, which must approve your employment.
This approval can take time, which is why having your match completed during winter is a real advantage.
Spring: visa application
With the ZAV approval in hand, you move to the visa stage. The approval forms the basis of your visa application. You book an appointment at the consulate and submit your documents. Appointment slots can be busy in spring, so act early here too.
Summer: travel and start of work
Once your visa is ready, you plan your trip, travel to Germany at the start of summer and begin your job. Remember that students enrolled in Turkey may as a rule work full time for a maximum of 90 days per calendar year.
In short: register in autumn, match and ZAV in winter, visa in spring, work in summer. Dates and procedures can change, so always verify current information with official sources such as the consulate and the Federal Employment Agency.
