Summer Work in Germany: Who Can Take Part
A paid summer job in Germany is realistic for many university students in Turkey. Before you apply, you should know the basic requirements. They are simpler than most people expect.
Who is eligible?
The core requirement is that you are an enrolled university student in Turkey. As of 2026, students enrolled in Turkey may as a rule work full time for a maximum of 90 days per calendar year in Germany. Different rules apply to students enrolled at German universities.
Your field of study does not matter. What matters is your active student status and your genuine availability during the semester break.
How much German do you need?
Fluent German is not expected. Basic German or English is enough for many positions, though it depends on the job. In production and logistics, simple communication is usually sufficient. In hospitality, hotel or office roles, a better language level widens your options.
Be honest about your level. The MONA video interview assesses it anyway, and the matching is based on what you can actually do.
Availability and documents
A summer job is full time, around 40 hours per week, so it has to fit inside your semester break. Plan around your exam dates and make sure you are available for several uninterrupted weeks.
